A critical role of the EWSETA is the accreditation of Skills Development Providers (SDPs) to train learners on the Unit Standard based qualifications (legacy qualifications). A key outcome of this function is to improve the quality and relevance of education and training in the Energy and the Water sector and to establish and maintain a comprehensive database of all accredited SDPs in the sector.
This is an area that must be closely monitored given the huge risk of non-accredited training providers who train and provide learners with certificates that do not secure them employment at many of our sector employers who want EWSETA accredited certification.
The EWSETA therefore, on an annual basis, conducts audits of registered SDPs to ensure that they still meet the accreditation requirements and are continuously capacitated around quality assurance issues and best practices.
The is to maintain an updated list of accredited SDPs to assist employers who request such information for their training needs.
