INVITATION TO APPLY AND SERVE ON THE EWSETA AUDIT AND RISK COMMITTEE
The Energy and Water Sector Education and Training Authority (EWSETA) is a statutory body established in terms of the Skills Development Act (1998) as amended; to advance skills levels in the Energy and Water Services Sector, in accordance with the National Skills Development Plan (NSDP) 2030.
The EWSETA hereby invites applications for one (1) independent member who is a suitably qualified and experienced candidate to serve in the Audit and Risk Committee in accordance with section 77 (a) of the Public Finance Management Act, No. 1 of 1999, as amended (PFMA) and Treasury Regulations for the current Accounting Authority’s term until 31 March 2030.
The ARC independent member must have the requisite financial, business, leadership, Risk, IT Governance and communication skills. The member of the Audit and Risk Committee must be financially literate, should have an enquiring attitude and an understanding of the finances, operations and statutory requirements governing the entity.
Minimum Requirements
- Proven participation in governance structures, financial accounting background and Risk Management.
- Dedication to EWSETA Audit and Risk Committee activities.
- Analytical thinking for informed decisions.
- Strong communication skills for collaborative discussions.
- Unwavering commitment to the highest ethical standards.
- Knowledge and understanding of the SETA environment will be an added advantage
Qualifications and Experience
- A Chartered Accountant CA (SA) or a Postgraduate Degree in the relevant field.
- PFMA, GRAP, National Treasury knowledge
- Corporate Governance, Ethics
- Financial Management, Analysis
- Public Sector Audit (AGSA), Risk, IT Governance
- Senior Management experience
- Experience in any of the following fields: Internal Auditing and Supply Chain
Term of Office and Remuneration: The appointed candidate will serve from the date of appointment to 31 March 2030. The remuneration of the Audit and Risk Committee is determined in accordance with paragraph 20.2 of the Treasury Regulations and applicable EWSETA Policies
